Entertainment Center

We have an average size old style TV that sat on a stand with doors underneath for the movies.  When Cohen was a baby, we rubber-banded the doors closed so he wouldn't make a mess with the movies and such.  However, as he got older and learned how to put movies into the VHS or DVD player, we stopped rubber-banding it closed.  Raiden came along and learned to open the doors and that it was the greatest thing to play with the doors and make messes of the movies.  The door hinges started to break.  We started thinking about getting a new entertainment center or something because I really want a media center, but no place to put a laptop.

I asked my dad again if the entertainment center he had made out of oak wood about 20 years ago was still available and how we could get it from AZ to me.  After me saying please and him doing some fancy measuring to see if it would fit in his truck, he called to say he was bringing it up.  It just fits...well after rearranging our living room a little.  We even gave it a couple coats of wood oil to spruce it up.  I'm pretty happy.  Now we just have to figure out a shelf inside so TJ can convert a laptop into a media center for me.  It has drawers on the bottom for our movies and drawers inside for CD's and cassette tapes.  I was able to put our scrapbooks and Piano music up on top.  Happy Day!
The boys enjoyed playing in the big hole once it arrived.
