We've been wanting to visit the Minidoka War Relocation Center (Japanese Internment Camp) near Jerome, Idaho since we've moved down here. It was one of ten camps during WWII that housed about 10,000 Japanese American Citizens during the war. TJ's mom was here for a visit during her spring break, so we went for a drive to see this historical site. There are only a few remnants remaining of the original buildings, but it was a humbling experience to reflect upon what those Americans had to endure during WWII.

A wonderful book that tells a little of the Japanese American experience during WWII is, The Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. I'm sure one could check it out at their local library, I did! It's worth the effort...enjoy.
