The boys and I just got back from a fun filled week of adventures. My Grandpa was having his 90th Birthday party on Sunday, so we went over to pick up Grammy and Grandpa in Meridian then headed over to Oregon. Before heading over, I had an impromptu visit from my Uncle, whom I haven't seen since I was 3 years old. He drives truck and often calls my Mom when he is in the Boise area. We drove over to the Flying J to meet him after the boys were in bed. It was so nice to visit with Uncle Richard.
To start our trip we headed over to McMinnville to visit with TJ's family. On the way, we stopped at Multnomah Falls. The boys loved it. When we got to the falls, there was a large group of Japanese students, who all feel in love with Raiden. They played with him and wanted to take lots of pictures of and with him.
We even climbed up to the bridge between the upper and lower falls. Raiden was mesmerized by the waterfall.
While Grandma was at work, we headed over to Lincoln City so we could play at the beach. Oh boy, did Cohen and Raiden have fun. Raiden loves the water. It was a little chilly, but really nice to breath in the ocean air.
We got back right as Grandma got off work so the boys went on a nature walk with Grandma & Grandpa and to see some tanks and airplanes around the Air Museum.
We celebrated Uncle Bryan's birthday a little early. Cohen helped blow out the candle a little early too. :)
Grandpa had fun reading and playing with the boys. He also wanted to make an apple crisp with the boys. They had fun helping peel the apples.
It was fun to stop in Corvallis and see my High School friend Katherine and her parents. We walked to the park in their neighborhood and played cards. I love visiting old friends, even though it's been a long time since we had seen each other, we had a blast.
Off to Eugene for Grandpa's party. We got there early to visit with Grandpa before setting up. It was a really nice potluck and fun seeing my Aunt, Uncles and Cousins. They put together a scrapbook of Grandpa's life with lots of pictures and notes we wrote of our memories with him. It was a nice surprise to get a copy of the book to take home too.
We decided to stop by Prineville on our way home to visit with Callie and Mike. We got to see their daughter Annie too, we were in Girl Scouts together and best friends for a few years. It was fun to catch up and see what they have been up to.
I also got to have lunch with another High School friend, Tara and her darling little boy.
We stopped at John Day Painted Rocks National Monument on the drive home. The boys loved walking along the trail and throwing rocks along the way.
