With constant reports that consumers nation wide are not getting the hint that all things will be broadcast exclusively in High Definition [HD] starting in February of 2009, less than 8 months away, this guy has created a coloring book for kids that is almost Luddite proof.
Heidi the HD Hippo walks the reader/artist through all the nuances by starting with the line "Hi-Def is fun, exciting, and educational!

It should be noted that there are a few things you can do to prepare that are relatively cheap. If you want to pull HD signals from the air for free, you need to get a new antenna that is able to get the new HD signals. While the antenna is pretty awesome, if you live in a more secluded area, the reception of signal will not be much better than what you can get now with an antenna.
If you want to keep the old TV that does not do HD signals, you will need a converter box. This will take the HD signal from Cable, Dish, or afore mentioned antenna and downsample the info into something current TVs can use. The good news is that there is a coupon program through the government that allows you to get a reimbursement of up to $40 on a converter box. Make sure you check the list of available converters though!!

I got an antenna that picks up the 3 main stations out of Spokane really well and I live on the outskirts of Moscow. That plus a converter box and a cheap TV from good will minus the $40 off coupon from the government = about $90 for free TV. It isn't the best picture because it's on an old TV, but its more than I'll ever need and best of all, I get the simpsons for free still.
